Fall

I love swaddling in sweaters and scarves and pulling on knee-high boots that smell leathery and feel friendly. I applaud a roaring fireplace with its spit and crackle companioned with steamy cups of dark cocoa. I appreciate the art of wet leaves splayed on windshields and sidewalks. I delight in cozy cafes stirred by warm conversations over pumpkin bread and chai tea. I’m a happy girl when I’m wrapped in a fuzzy robe while captured by a well-written story. I’m giggly tucked under an umbrella splashing my way toward a friendly rendezvous. I’m fascinated by scampering squirrels and flocking birds. I’ m comforted by foamy baths and feather-filled duvets. I’m heady when my kitchen smells of cinnamon and coffee. So rattle windows, blow north winds, fly copper leaves…fill the world with a sampling of God’s furious glory.
I so agree with your blog. What a blessed, beautiful time of year this is. No matter what else is going on around us in this world, I see the beautiful leaves and know that God is.
Taking a a walk yesterday I went up a very big (and exhausting) hill. Half way up I stopped and looked back at the view. Breathtaking. Or was that the exercise? 🙂
I agree with this Patsy…and fall sort of heralds a feel of another year winding down , and I enjoy all the little pleasures it brings. (Just tried my first cup of Starbucks drink…Pumpkin Spice Latte!) and it was instantly put on my things to enjoy during fall!
God is good, and He puts beauty in the world to remind us He is still here…:)
Patsy Clairmont as you know- More things caught than taught and i love catching what you have a love for life, a love for GOD, genuine love for people. i have met you in person and i have watched you under stress as a person and i have a picture of you and me.
Having traveled quit a bit myself, the aiport name slips my memory. The situation has not. Due to some difficulties, flights were being canceled right and left. Terry Bradshaw had just arrived off a flight and even though he was seen by several people, i asked to make a picture of him. He said “No, mam.”
My mind kind of knew the reason why- my spirit was crushed. He is a known Christian also Then you appear needing to get to a conference and ALL outbound plans canceled. We had our pictures made together.
You were completely calm even though your flight had been canceled. I told my then husband that Patsy Clairmont was in the house and you were more popular than Terry Bradshaw. My ex-husband (now) said he seriously doubted that statement. Mind you, he has never been to one “Women of Faith” conferences or read one of your books. However, like most men- he and Terry went way back.
Terry had now left the house. There was a man at the front desk frantically going from counter to counter telling them that they did not understand he had to arrive by plane somewhere else and it was an EMERGENCY. We were all watching because with each visit to the front desks emotions were elevated.
Also i watched you. You were smiling and had remained in your seat the WHOLE time which by-the-way was a long time. About this time, they called you- God’s Princess going to deliver the message from the KING, not just the KING OF USA., THE KING.
Sadly, the man at the front desk still there when we left- It was rumored he was trying to make a funeral. Every flight after yours was cancelled and we all spent that night at hotels compliments of the airline.
Love to you and yours.
I just love the way Patsy writes. Here in CA we finally have two straight days of cool Fall weather — hope it stays.
I love all the seasons, but do think that fall is my most favorite, for all the reasons you listed and so many more. After I read your blog, I had to go get a crispy apple to eat for my snack. It was crunchy and juicy and tasted just like fall.
I love Fall! It’s my favorite season. I agree with you Patsy about the smell of coffee and cinnamon in the kitchen. And pumpkin bread! Beautiful post!
You expressed my thoughts exactly! Well, I would actually add one more thought. I love wrapping my Queen-size fleece blanket around me (in particular while watching football with my sweet hubby)!!
Autumn is best season that remins us love of God; harvest; for our lives (^_^)
well said Patsy…once again you speak what my heart feels!
Beautiful!!!!
