Day Glory, even before my eyes open I’m aware of birds singing outside my window. I hear the rustle of the curtains as the lace skims the sill. I feel the warmth of sundays upon my hair. I’m aware of lilacs’ perfume and leaves’ gentle rustle. The gifts of nature calm me.
I ache to linger in this place between heaven and earth…but that is not what You have called me to. Lord, give me a new song, fragrance, and compassionate warmth to take through this day. And help me to bloom with calm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the Lord. Psalm 40:3
