Change…

Change
I awoke early and full of curiosity. I wanted to experience morning on our new porch. We moved into this stone dwelling 4 days ago and I’m still learning how it breathes.

Summer in the South is layered in moods and demands. She sits in your lap and hugs the air from your lungs like a child that’s been pampered far too long. She’s lush and fragrant and the birds never tire of singing praises. Bees the size of bullfrogs hover above the Morning Glory vines mumbling.

Boxes still litter our bedrooms waiting to be unpacked but for now I sit and swing listening and learning a new rhythm. Change at any age can be discordant…initially, but lean in to your new day, the song may not be familiar, but the words could change your life.

Your words are like a paintbrush in my mind…I can almost see what you’re describing…looking forward to photos and more stories :o)
Praise God today, my friend’s adult daughter gets to go home after recent treatment for leukemia. The power of prayer is evident in her ongoing recovery and this new milestone! Hallelujah!

Pasty, My husband and I were just in Franklin a few weeks ago. He and i are going to be retiring from being pastors in Iowa. We fell in love with Franklin and are serious thinking about moving there next June, 2011. We just love Tennessee. The people in Franklin were so nice to us and the area so peaceful and beautiful I could just feel the presence of God. I am looking forward to seeing all that God has in store for us when we move.

Enjoy every minute of your new home. The boxes can wait, however you might or maybe not want to find your brain. I sometimes do much better leaving mine at home.

    Much love in Christ, Clara

Thank you for the reminder to look for what God has in each new adventure. We are also planning a move at our “mature” age. I am not looking forward to it, but with encouraging words and reminders from dear Christian friends like you the load is lighter. Lord bless you and your new home.

Sounds just wonderful. I recently heard somewhere that when Mother Teresa was asked what she says when she prays to God she said, “nothing, I just listen.” They then asked her what God says to her, and she said, “nothing, he just listens.” I’ve been trying to slow down and just listen to God more.

Enjoy unpacking and settling into your new home!!

I only wish that change felt this way to me, and that I would just take a moment every once in awhile to enjoy the moment. We are trying to sell our house and get another before someone else grabs it.

Care to send some of that peace this way? Just reading this caused me to relax.

Thank you for inviting me to sit and swing with you. I can feel exactly what you are describing by closing my eyes.
