Our grandsons came for a recent visit and one morning Noah the 7 year old came in the bedroom to watch me make the bed. After the third time I circled the king size “continent” pulling, tugging and arranging the covers, Noah asked me, “Nana why doesn’t Papa help you?”
That made me giggle because I’m sure I looked a tad inadequate on my tippy toes as I tried to manage the unruly bedding. But later I did mention Noah’s suggestion to hubby, just in case he wanted to join in the morning aerobics of shaking the smithereens out of the comforter, which tends to huddle tenaciously in the corner of the duvet. He didn’t look enticed.
I do think Noah offered good counsel. Scripture puts it this way, “Two is better than one…For if either of them falls the other will lift up his companion.”
Are you doing the work of many? Perhaps it’s time to enlist others to come along side your effort.
Yesterday I climbed out of bed and headed in to get ready for my day and when I emerged with my nose powdered and my hair spiked, lo and behold, the bed was made. Woo Hoo! It was an unexpected treat and I didn’t even mind that there was a huge lump in the bottom right hand corner of the duvet.
