Take Time to Read…

  • I most definitely plan to take time to read!! Thank you for the reminder of slowing down.

  • Love this, Patsy! I will obey. 🙂

  • Jen Reetz

I will, Patsy!! I am reading Kaleidoscope right now..enjoying your insight into the book of Proverbs!! God bless!!

  • Good advice, Patsy!

    Merry Christmas!

  • Hi Patsy! I have a special collection of Christmas books that I bring down from the attic each December. Have you ever read Christmas on Jane Street? That is one of my favorites. We also have lots of picture books to share with the kids and grandkids.

Thanks for encouraging your friends to read!

Carrie I too have Christmas books that I love to pull out and reread. One of them is a child’s book entitled “Star Mother’s Youngest Child” by Louise Moeri. A simple story that wraps itself around my heart and squeezes the spirit of Christmas back into me when I lose track of myself in the midst of the bustle.

Thanks for recommendation…I’ll check out “Christmas on Jane Street.”

  • I will definitely have my Kindle with me over the holiday. I look forward to getting into some of the many books I’ve downloaded on it. I got it as a gift last Christmas, and I must say, I have read more books this year because of it.

Thanks for the inspiration! I think you are beautiful!

    Merry Christmas.

  • It is funny you posted this. My sweet Bible study friends and I started reading Kaleidoscope tonight for the month of December. We intend to share our thoughts and discuss what strikes us. Thank you for writing for us, it will be so fun to share the Proverbs and your personal touch!

Oh thank you so much for choosing Kaleidoscope. I pray God causes the Proverbs to light up in new ways for you and your friends!

    • Donna G Cox

I get together with a small group of girlfriends for a prayer circle and we are starting with Kaleidoscope! What I have read so far is every insightful! Praying for you and your bible study group.

  • I am whole heartedly in agreement with you! I love to read and while sick this last 10 days, I have done a lot of it! Great stuff and has me pumped! AND guess what I got for my sick birthday Patsy???? Yep! I got the magic pad! Psych!!!!!

  • I don’t read very often but i will try to more. It is enriching and gives me word pictures for life lessons to hold on to.

  • Dot Quaid

Great advice – think I’ll open a Patsy Clairmont book, or another I bought at the WoF conference!

  • “Thank you” for this encouragement. growing up in a workaholic home, with seven brothers and sisters and running a business for extra income to provide. and having a father was at the Railroad with his job up to three days at a time. we had much work to be done ans were not allowed to sit down, read, or be busy with that. so as a result, i have lived a life of feeling the guilt or not performing with the work needed in front of me and didn’t encourage my self of the importance of taking that time to read. but now, a new generational choice has been shown to me. I like to read and learn more of something of the life that is before me, so I have given myself permission to read. Thank you for that reminder of the importance of continuing to challenge myself in this good work. God bless You, Patsy and others reading this message. Teachablity is the key no matter where you have come form or been taught in the early years of life.

So pleased you have broken free from the constraints of performance to the freedom of just being. Rest your head in the Psalms then read your heart full in the Gospels. I highly recommend the pen of Ken Gire “Windows of the Soul,” Francine River’s “Redeeming Love,” and Ellen Vaughn’s “Time Peace.”

  • Lucy LeForge

Must read, God’s word every day, a devotional, as time permits lots of other stuff. I love to read, it’s my favorite thing to do.

My favorite thing too. Lately I’ve been on a fast track so now slowing down looks promising in front of the fire with hot tea and a ton of exciting books.

  • Karen

I am a total bookworm, and you are my favorite author! Thank you so much for your fearless authenticity and your encouragement.

Karen, I love the term “fearless authenticity”…thanks for using it in conjunction with my name. I was a “fraidy cat” for so long that I know any strength of character in me has been forged by God’s generosity.

  • you are so adorable! seriously.

reading hasn’t been as much of a joy as it used to be, but i’m halfway through a novel by one of my favorite authors, and discovering again my love for the written word…

    missing you!

As a librarian, I so appreciate this sentiment! : )
