Patsy's Welcome

Is it possible I’m in calendar-denial??

Every time a month changes into the next one I’m surprised. Time seems to be catapulting right over my head!

I just returned from the WOF Alaskan cruise and while I was on the high seas July shot past me. I mean it wasn’t as if I didn’t recognize the Fourth when it exploded in the form of the Star Spangled Banner sung by Sandi Patty on the ship...you’d have to be comatose to sleep through that splendid-exhilarating moment...yet somehow I continue to be late posting my Web. It seems as though by the time I recognize my update need I’m already leaning toward the following month. So I have an idea...

How’s about I post for July and August this time? Maybe that will catch my brain up so when we hit Fall I will enter in with renewed gusto.

I love the lazy days of summer although I can’t say I’ve had much time for the “lazy” portion...maybe that’s just ahead. And then maybe not. I’m working on a new book project which is taking up all my brain cells and then some, so if you have any extra cells you could loan me I’d appreciate it. The book will be called “Catching Fireflies.” It’s capturing glimpses of God’s light everywhere. It will be released in early 2009.

Yikes! Did I just say 2009? We are already over half way there. In fact on the way home last night my husband and I saw a frightening sight...in a Motor Home sales lot there was a huge, I mean HUGE 30 ft. Santa Claus.

C’mon now, it’s July.

We need to s-l-o-w down. Of course, I’m talking to myself as well. Here’s a potential list for slowing down our life and dipping our toes in summer...

Eat breakfast outside

Drop a fishing line in a pond

Sit a spell

Sip tea with a friend

Ride a bike around the block...slowly

Luxuriate in a book

Still your mind...Scripture helps.

May we be aware of how God is blessing our summer days...with warmth, flowers, crops, beaches, breezes, picnics, family, friends, fireflies, etc.
